Did you know that 76 percent of young American adults below 32 years of age, consider living together before marriage as acceptable? And that 65 per cent of singles who intend to marry-including professing Christians-now live together before marriage?

The Church of Global Warming

Global warming

By Gary Bauer

Senate liberals wasted a lot of hot air talking for hours and hours about global warming, just in time for much of the country, including Washington, D.C., to get hit with another winter blast. But where does the issue, so important to the left, rank with the American people? According to Gallup’s latest ranking issues, climate change is almost dead last, coming in 14th out of 15 issues tested. Washington liberals are so out-of-touch that it’s not surprising they are doing the exact opposite of what most Americans want. Much of the country would probably appreciate a little global warming right now! If you think this winter has been cold, you’re right. In fact, it’s been the coldest winter in 100 years!

Should Worship Leaders Sing Secular Songs in Church?

Should church worship bands play secular songs? (Lightstock)

I’ve always been on the fence about doing secular songs in worship. I personally don’t care for it but have played them when a pastor has asked. However, a recent trip to Elevation Church has caused me to make up my mind.

Twenty-five years ago, it would be unthinkable to sing a secular rock song in church (you couldn’t even get away with an Amy Grant tune!). When did this all start? I’m guessing Willow Creek, the original seeker church, was the culprit. (And we all know how their seeker methodology panned out. Read “Willow Creek Repents?“) Continue reading “Should Worship Leaders Sing Secular Songs in Church?”

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Canadian Society of Pediatrics state infants aged 0-2 years should not have any exposure to technology, 3-5 years be restricted to one hour per day, and 6-18 years restricted to 2 hours per day (AAP 2001/13, CPS 2010). Children and youth use 4-5 times the recommended amount of technology, with serious and often life threatening consequences (Kaiser Foundation 2010, Active Healthy Kids Canada 2012). Handheld devices (cell phones, tablets, electronic games) have dramatically increased the accessibility and usage of technology, especially by very young children (Common Sense Media, 2013). As a pediatric occupational therapist, I’m calling on parents, teachers and governments to ban the use of all handheld devices for children under the age of 12 years. Following are 10 research-based reasons for this ban. Please visit to view the Zone’in Fact Sheet for referenced research.
